History
Plaka, also known as the 'neighborhood of the gods', is the oldest neighborhood of Athens and among the oldest in Europe. Anafiotika, the so-called 'hidden neighborhood of Athens', due to its maze-like alleys that make it hard to find for outsiders, is in total contrast to the rest of the city. Besides their picturesque alleys, the neighborhoods boast rich history referring not only to their ancient past but to the latest history of Greece as well. This alternative, guided walking tour of Plaka and Anafiotika aims to go beyond the tourist's eye and show you the true colors of the most famous districts in Athens.

- "Our “Secrets of Plaka and Anafiotika” tour was outstanding in every way. Our guide Yiota was personable, very knowledgeable about the city and its history, and had an impressive and unique set of academic credentials. Although we had booked the small group tour, we were the only participants, and therefore were able to customize the tour based on our interests. Yiota also provided us with helpful information about further exploration to do on our own, again based on our interests such as street art and music. We can give a positive recommendation without any reservations!"
